Believe in the impossibile

Christian Wayne

The first encounter with magic happened when he was very young, but it’s destiny that, at the age of twelve, makes him experience the thrill of wonder and amazement through a magical effect. From that moment, Christian Wayne began to seriously pursue his passion, and thanks to that decision, in 2021, he was one of the protagonists of the television program “Voglio essere un mago” (I Want to Be a Magician), aired on Rai 2. The show featured 12 magic enthusiasts living in Rocchetta Mattei Castle, performing daily on stage under the guidance of industry professionals and the Great Silvan.

Later, he appeared on “I fatti vostri,” also aired on Rai 2, to talk about the experience and give viewers a taste of the magic seen in the program. During this wonderful experience, he made friends, learned from teachers, but the encounter with Andrew Basso deeply marked him, changing his way of thinking about impossible things not as unattainable goals but as objectives to achieve.

Thus, an irresistible desire to go to America to study and grow was born. Just before leaving for the United States, another person entered his life, propelling his growth significantly: Vito Lupo, one of the most important illusionists in the world. Vito would help and mentor him to continue growing and learning in the vast art of magic.

In 2022, he seized the opportunity to participate in the Lance Burton Teen Seminar. Together with 20 other young people from around the world, he spent a week in Atlanta studying with some of the greatest illusionists: Lance Burton, Jeff McBride, Larry Hass, and Shawn Farquhar. During this time, he performed at the 100th anniversary of the International Brotherhood of Magicians held in Atlanta, Georgia.

In the same year, Christian landed a small role in the Portuguese film “Primeira Pessoa do Plural” (First Person Plural), playing the part of an illusionist. This experience also brought him closer to the world of cinema.

In February 2023, another important spark ignited for his career. In Blackpool, England, during a magic convention, he saw one of the world’s best manipulators, Yu Hojin, perform live for the first time. Back in Italy, he collaborated with Vito to create his manipulation act. After several months of work, the time came to return to America, this time to New York, where he had the opportunity to stage his show in Manhattan, presenting the manipulation act.

On this occasion, in addition to the shows in Manhattan, he attended an acting course at the New York Film Academy, graduating with the highest scores, recognizing the commonalities between magic and the world of cinema.

Christian’s talent and dedication soon gained international recognition: in 2024, he won the first prize at International Magic Festival in San Marino. At the same time, he began teaching magic as a subject at Accademia Symphosium, the first high school in Italy to offer magic as a formal discipline, helping students develop creativity, theater skills, and confidence.

In the same year, he returned to New York City for several months to deepen his acting studies at the New York Film Academy, while also performing in an Off-Broadway show. Furthermore, he was admitted to “The Acting Studio” in New York after an audition, where he will soon return to continue refining his craft.

His performances have taken him from Lake Garda to Portofino and Savini in the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele in Milan, and to audiences all over Italy, showcasing his art to high-end spectators. He also reached millions of viewers when he appeared on Rai 2 in prime time, cementing his place as a rising star in the world of illusionism.

Illusionism is a profound art that encompasses numerous subjects and skills, from theater to acting, manual technique to psychology. It is by studying each of these aspects in depth that one can elevate magic to another level. This is why Christian’s study will never end, with the goal of becoming a better person, a better actor, and a better illusionist.
